Sportstar College is for those who are serious about their sport and driven by the idea of developing in a high-performance environment, rooted in a town with a long-standing tradition of elite sports.
What makes Sportstar College Ikast-Brande unique is that multiple sports are brought together under one roof, where 150 young people with a passion for sports live together—each in their own room.
The goal is that the synergy, inspiration, knowledge sharing, professional exchange of experiences, and shared joy for sports will together create one of the country’s strongest athletic environments. At the same time, you will receive advice and guidance in the personal and individual planning of your own career path.

A single room costs DKK 6,375 per month (2025 rates). After your first year, you may apply for a single room.

Basketball students pay a training fee of DKK 2,000 per month for 11 months. This fee includes a starter equipment package, training, transportation to and from games, and tournament fees. There is no fee in July.
Football, handball, badminton, and volleyball students pay an additional membership fee to the clubs. There may also be out-of-pocket expenses for training camps or similar activities.
More about the registration fee and college fees
The registration fee is a one-time payment made before starting at Sportstar College. It replaces a traditional deposit, like those used in housing associations. We handle basic maintenance and repairs in the rooms, such as replacing light bulbs. Upon moving out, the room must be left in the same condition as it was received.
All students receive a starter package, which includes a clothing package, a college student card, laundry card, keys, and key chip.
The fee also covers introductory events and special activities (e.g. footgolf, lectures, college evenings, and barbecue events).
College fees are paid monthly in advance. They cover housing including utilities, internet access, full board (not for students living at home), college training, access to strength training facilities, and our shared facilities.
Early termination
If your stay at the college is terminated early, a three-month notice period applies to all matters.
Student Grants (SU)
You may be eligible for SU (Danish student grant) as an independent (living away from home) student if you live more than 20 km from your parents. For more detailed guidance on SU, please contact one of the affiliated educational institutions.
Daily Schedule
The daily schedule at Sportstar College is constantly changing. Depending on which educational program you are enrolled in and which sport you practice, your timetable will vary from day to day.
However, the overview provided gives you a general idea of what a typical week looks like at Sportstar College and helps you understand how we structure daily life.
As mentioned, the various sports programs have different training times in the afternoons and evenings. If you need more specific information about your particular sport, you can find it on the individual sports pages. You are also very welcome to contact the head coach for your program. You’ll find their contact information on the relevant sport’s page.
In the evenings, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in various activities such as playing pool, going to the swimming pool, watching a movie, or attending local sports events like handball, football, badminton, and more.
From time to time, we host College Night.
Themes can range from entertainment and lectures to group outings. Some events are voluntary, while others require mandatory attendance.

Education
Upper Secondary Education
The upper secondary schools in Ikast accommodate your needs as an elite athlete—without compromising the quality of your education. At Sportstar College, you can train while completing your upper secondary education within the standard timeframe.
You can choose to pursue an academic upper secondary education at either Ikast-Brande Gymnasium or the Business College in Ikast (Handelsgymnasiet). Both schools have extensive experience in educating students who compete in sports at a high level.
STX/HF – Ikast-Brande Gymnasium offers many years of experience in combining elite sports and education. Here, you can choose between two STX study programmes tailored to suit your needs as an athlete. Read more about STX and HF here.
IB Sport – is a part of Ikast-Brande Gymnasium and gives students the opportunity to combine their sports training with an IB (International Baccalaureate) education. Read more about IB Sport here.
HHX – The Business College in Ikast offers a study programme that reflects the reality of today’s world. With an HHX in Sports Marketing, you’ll open the door to many future opportunities. Read more about HHX here.
IUC 10th Grade – If you're not quite ready to begin an upper secondary programme, we also have a strong partnership with the municipal 10th grade in Ikast-Brande Municipality (IUC). As a student at IUC, you’ll be able to attend morning training three times a week and be offered a customised schedule that allows you to pursue your sports dreams while keeping up with your education. Read more about IUC here and see a detailed description of our collaboration in this document: SamarbejdsbeskrivelseIUCSportstarCollege-24-25-PDF.
Across all educational programmes, special consideration is given to you as an athlete, and your schedule includes time off for morning training three times a week.
We ensure that the education programmes are flexible. You’ll have access to morning training, extra instruction when needed, and homework support. Each school assigns a contact person who will oversee your educational progress and maintain a strong connection with Sportstar College. The IT facilities are outstanding, and academic life, social environment, and sports are closely integrated.
There are sports coordinators at the schools to help you plan and structure your busy daily life, so you get the most out of your time for both training and studies. This is a unique collaboration between Sportstar College, the schools, and the sports clubs—unlike anything seen elsewhere in Denmark.
